Awkwafina

Awkwafina was initially an American rapper and singer, making sly songs that addressed topics like racial or sexual identities with a funny twist. Prior to her move into Hollywood her career, she had the opportunity to perform a variety of tracks. Nora Lum, born in Forest Hills Queens to Chinese and Korean immigrants was her first musical encounter. She played the trumpet. In addition to classical and jazz, Nora Lum began studying hip-hop in her teens. In the college years, she remained focused on her studies. She took up a degree in women's studies and journalism. While she was for a brief amount during her time in Beijing, Mandarin language classes were also offered. After graduating, she began to focus on music. The song My Vag, a response track to Mickey Avalon's My Dick gained viral popularity on the Internet in the year 2012. The track was later included in her first album Yellow Ranger released in 2014. The album also featured hit songs that went viral, such as the body-positive Queef and the winking tour of her hometown NYC BitcheUSD. This track was directly linked into another venture Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide, which was published in the year 2015. Apart from being a published author and a singer, she was also a professional as a singer. She's appeared in movies including Neighbors 2, Storks as well as Bad Rap. In 2018, her breakthrough role was in Dude Ocean's 8 as well as Crazy Rich Asians. In June she released In Fina We Trust.
