Kristen Anne Bell (born 1980) is a popular American performer and actress. Bell was raised in Huntington Woods, Michigan, and is the daughter of Lorelei (Frygier) and is Nurse as well as Tom Bell, a television news director. She is born in Polish heritage (mother), and German, English and Scottish (father). Kristen was already a talented entertainer at an early stage. She went to her audition in 1992 and got the role of Raggedy Ann, and Andy. Bell's mother established her with an agent prior to her turning 13, and she was cast in television advertisements for newspapers and commercials. In addition to learning in private classes and acting lessons, she started her career around that time. Bell had a small uncredited role as a character in Polish Wedding (1998) in 1998. Bell was a member of the drama and musical club of Shrine Catholic High School. The Wizard of Oz production in her high school earned Bell the starring Dorothy role. Bell later moved into New York City, to the Tisch School of the Arts. She was a musical theatre student at the Tisch School of the Arts. Bell left her studies in 2001, and assumed the role of Becky the character of Tom Sawyer. She made her first film credit with Pootie Tang in 2001. The scene however, was trimmed and now her appearance only appears in the credits at the end. Bell made an appearance alongside Angela Bettis, Liam Neeson as well as in The Crucible Broadway performance of The Crucible in 2002.
